just so beautiful. just beautiful.

something I've been meaning to say for a while...

by way of...

Listening to the eclectic mix I have playing on the computer as I potter about my room, I am transported back onto motorways leading to winding country roads, where we rode, high on freedom and dreaming of escape. We were lifted up and eased back down on all of our adventures out of London, by what has become the soundtrack of summer 2007.

This is the soundtrack that our campsites were chosen to, our vodka, apple juice and sodas were mixed to, that inspired spontaneous daggy dancing, that serenaded the moonlight and shouted for the ocean. As we travelled to Durdle Door and Lullworth Bay it took us to the East Cape and the rugged West Coast, with a quick trip through Palmerston North for kicks.

We travelled alone, surrounded by friends and memories. Sometimes smiling, sometimes crying; tears of nostalgia and deep happiness. When i now listen to the soundtrack of summer, which happens most evenings at home in my room, I am rocked gently backward with memories and forwards with dreams. Forever, this carefully selected collection of songs will remind me of the summer when our first child was conceived, most likely whilst we were listening to the soundtrack of summer 2007.

thanks you's
